René-Jacques, Retrospective

The visual mastery of a great professional who worked as a photographer for over half a century, covering such fields and themes as industrial reportage (Renault), studio photography (Grémillon's film Remorques), architecture (Versailles), rural landscapes, Paris (streets, gardens, the economic crisis of the 1930s, the Seine, monuments), and literary illustration (Les Olympiques by Montherlant, Envoûtement de Paris by Carco).
