Ali Kazma. Subterranean
Catalogue of the exhibition

Ali Kazma (born in Istanbul in 1971) uses lens-based media, chiefly video, to investigate situations, places and structures relating to man’s ability to transform the world. He has been continuously creating an archive that documents human activity in economic, industrial, scientific, medical, social and artistic spheres. The exhibition and catalogue’s title Subterranean evokes the relationship between the visible and the invisible aspects of reality, emphasising the idea that Kazma’s work does not confront the domain of images in a direct and obvious fashion.
